Session presented on Thursday, September 20, 2012:
This session is designed to promote the professional development of nurses who have assumed leadership roles, as well as nurses who aspire to become future leaders of the profession. The presentation will begin with a discussion of clinical and educational scenarios where nursing leadership is needed. New leadership roles and opportunities will be explored. Participants will learn and discuss strategies to further their own careers as nurse leaders. Finally, participants will consider the purpose and process for becoming a servant leader. The benefits of investing in others will be presented, as well as the impact of the act of giving on leadership development and effectiveness.
