The use of simulation and debriefing in the online education environment is not well documented in the literature. New technology allows the creative use of simulation to be developed and evaluated for use in further engaging online graduate and undergraduate students. Three online faculty members will present their pilot experiences with the use of simulation and debriefing with: a root cause analysis for students in a health administration course, an intervention for a family in crisis over placing a loved in in a nursing home or remaining at home in a health promotion course, and using simulation to prepare nurse educators for dealing with difficult student situations an educator role course. Student comments were overwhelmingly positive. The simulation educator attended all online courses as a guest debriefer, using the PEARLS debriefing method. Minor modifications will be made for the next semester in each course.
