dc.description.abstract<p>Everyone has a personal and professional brand. You may not be managing your brand consciously and it could be hurting your career now and in the future. What comprises your personal professional brand? What does your online presence look like? Who are you appealing too? Are you involved in career networking? This presentation will give you tips on managing your brand on social media, ways to promote a positive brand through networking, and review research.</p> <p>Define desirable characteristics that you want to convey through your own mission, vision, and value statements.&nbsp; Review findings from research studies regarding leadership characteristics that you may want to convey. Are you purposefully participating or are you doing someone else&rsquo;s to-do list?</p> <p>Why do we wait to send an email for 24 hours and not apply the same types of filters to our social media and in-person communication? Look at personal filters that you can apply to change your brand image. Utilize social media to your advantage. Social media can be consuming but it can also be a tool for success.</p> <p>Ensure you have your elevator speech ready before any networking opportunity.</p> <p>Are the activities that you participate in supporting your purpose? Are you wasting your time or are you aligning with your goals? Choose activities, committees and projects that help define your brand. Ensure the things that you are involved in are helping support your purpose because they are defining your brand.</p> <p><span style="color: red;">The attached slides are formatted to include the presenters notes.</span></p>en
