Story guided online deliberate practice intervention is a highly satisfactory and cost effective educational methodology in providing nursing students opportunities to practice critical communications, a high-stakes skill, in a low-risk environment. Technical, evaluation, and structural challenges are presented with discussions on opportunities for future research and educational implementation.
